The festival of colors is just around the corner and we are excited. Holi is a festival that brings a new flair of joy as it is full of fun, frolic and vibrancy. Most of us cherish the colorful play and are eager to savor those ghujiyas, as well as splash water balloons on each other. But, the aftermath of this festival is a big concern. With all that color, it takes several hours or maybe days to get your skin and hair clean again. Even if you use herbal colors, it takes significant effort to clean up. Luckily, we know some home remedies that will prove helpful for you in cleaning the Holi colors off your skin and hair.

How to clean Holi colors from hair?

Olive oil or castor oil works great

For your hair, using olive oil or castor oil is a great remedy to clean the Holi colors. However, this remedy you will have to use before you start the color play. Oil your hair with olive oil or castor oil and make a protective layer. The layer will prevent colors from settling down on your hair.

Egg yolk

As nourishing as egg yolk is for your hair, it is also a great way to get rid of Holi color from hair. For this remedy to work, you must not wash your hair immediately after the Holi fun. Instead, apply egg yolk on your hair and let it sit for 45 minutes. Now wash your hair with a shampoo and get the color removed.

You can also use curd instead of egg yolk. This remedy also helps you prevent damage from the color.
