How can you protect your skin from weather damage?

The weather is changing as we feel the shift in the season. Every time the weather changes, there is a lot of preparation one has to do. Skin care remains one of the most important aspects to take care of during the changing weather. As the wind becomes cold and moisture levels drop, skin tends to take a lot of negative impacts. It is only the right care that can prevent skin damage due to changing weather. 

So, how do you start with your skincare during changing weather?

This post has tips to help you manage your skin concerns and take good care of them as the winter arrives.

Tip 1: Never forget to moisturize

Dry winter air can rip off the moisture from your skin. To ensure you have supple and healthy skin during winter, you must moisturize your skin daily using a cream-based moisturizer. For sensitive skin, you must use a gentle moisturizer that does not have a fragrance of lanolin. Apply moisturizer after taking a shower or washing your face to trap moisture on the skin. 

Tip 2: Do not overindulge in hot water

Hot water makes your skin drier. To avoid losing the natural hydration of the skin, you must use lukewarm water to wash your face. Also use a non-irritating, non-detergent-based cleanser and moisturize every time. 

Tip 3: Use a humidifier

The air around you affect the skin significantly. To ensure you do not have the winter itch due to dry skin, you must use a humidifier in your rooms. The humidifier balances the moisture levels in the air, allowing your skin to breathe healthily. 

Tip 4: Stay protected under the sun 

As much as we love to expose ourselves to sunlight during the chilly winter season, the sun has the same effect on the skin as they do in summer. The damage may be a little less but sunburns can happen in winter as well. Do not skin applying sunscreen and make sure you cover yourself when steeping in the sun. 

Tip 5: Take vitamin D Supplements

The sun is bright and warm during summer and the body naturally makes Vitamin D required to function healthily. However, in winter the sun is dull and hence the body’s ability to make Vitamin D is compromised. Make sure you take your share of vitamin D regularly and prevent skin damage. 

Tip 6: Do not let go of your skincare routine

Your skincare routine is important for healthy and naturally glowing skin. Do not be lazy during winter and ensure that you follow the skincare regime on daily basis.

Protecting your skin during the weather change can be tough but is very important. Make sure you use these tips and have healthy skin during the coming season.
